28 January 2012

A four-year-old, Aditya was trapped between the doors of Metro, which soon began moving, when he was trying to get onboard, on Saturday.

According to media reports, the incident occured when Rajesh Seth, his wife Neerma and son Aditya were waiting for metro at Rajiv Chowk at around 11am.

Rajesh said that they managed to reach the last coach when the train came. He said that there was a lot of rush and when they tried to board his son's foot got trapped between the closing gates, the report stated.

He said that wife, who was holding Aditya, lost her balance and fell on the tracks when the train started to move. Two securitymen rescued him at the last moment.

While it is still not clear how the train's sensors failed the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) calls it a 'minor accident and denied that the boy was trapped. But, according to reports, such lapse has been recurring for the past few months, resulting in injuries to passengers.
