The Delhi High Court on Monday will hear bail plea of DMK MP Kanimozhi in the 2G spectrum allocation scam case. The CBI in its 2G scam chargesheet had named Kanimozhi as a co-conspirator of former telecom minister A. Raja.
Kanimozhi along with and Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar had moved the high court after a special CBI court dismissed their bail pleas and ordered their arrest on May 20.
Both Kanimozhi and Kumar are currently in Tihar Jail.
A Delhi court will also hear the bail plea of Cineyug Films' Karim Morani, one of the accused in the 2G scam case. The CBI had alleged that Swan Telecom and DB Realty channelled Rs 200 crore to the DMK-run Kalaignar TV through Morani's Cineyug Films Pvt Ltd.
The court on May 26 had reserved its order on the bail plea of Morani till May 30. Earlier, Morani was getting exemption from personal appearance in the court on the ground of ill health. But the court has now dismissed his anticipatory bail plea on medical ground, saying that as per May 19 reports received from the department of Cardiology and Neurosurgery of Mumbai's J J Hospital, his condition was "stable and normal".
